Q & A

Bare Imagery is a mix of traditional and lifestyle photography. Traditionally, poses can give a classic timelessness to your portraits. When you are posed, I strive to make it look as natural and effortless as I can, but poses only take us so far. On the Lifestyle side, I photograph movement, genuine emotion and interactions. This style of photography helps convey who you are in a natural, meaningful way. Combining both styles of photography allows us to tell the whole story... of you.

What outfits should I wear? What colors photograph well? Can I bring multiple outfits?

We will be walking, sitting, sometimes even hiking to various spots on site, so wear something you feel comfortable in, yet conveys who you are as an individual. Pay attention to skirt lengths, shoe height, and clean, manicured nails (painted or bare). Ladies, apply your makeup a little heavier than normal. I also recommend applying SPF lotion to your face so that not only is dryness eliminated, but your skin has a natural glow.

Earth tones, deep colors and muted tones photograph beautifully. Busy patterns don't translate as well on camera. Remember, we want to focus on you and not the distraction of a bold, bright pattern (though I'm sure it looks really cute!)

Outfit changes are welcome as it gives more variety to your portraits. Bear in mind, we are working around the natural sun light provided, especially in the evenings, so I usually suggest no more than 2-3 changes to ensure maximum amount of shoot time. If you are having family portraits taken, avoid matchy-matchy attire. Pick 3-4 coordinating colors. This will give variety, depth and more interest in your portraits.

Do you photograph bridals/weddings?

Yes! Contact me so we can talk about what you're looking for in your wedding portraits. I will customize a package suited to your needs and budget.

When will I receive my images?

Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for processing. I carefully sift through all images, selecting only the best for processing. I digitally edit each photograph individually, making sure each image meets my high standards in regards to color, tone quality, sharpness, etc.

In the meantime, you may expect sneak peeks posted on my website, blog, or Facebook until you receive all images.

What am I paying for?

Great question! So much goes into producing quality images, far beyond just "snapping a picture." Equipment is only a small fraction of what makes a photographer. Your payment contributes towards my time, talent, pre-session prep (consults via email or phone, etc), post-session work (culling, editing, posting/blogging/Facebooking sneak peeks), packaging, travel costs, equipment, and lastly, for gorgeous and memorable images of YOU!
